The influence of a bulb runner blade hydrofoil shape on flow characteristics around the was studied. Experimental work performed turbine measuring station and single in cavitating tunnel. In cavitation tunnel, visualization hydrofoil’s suction side. Cavitation structures were observed for several numbers. less intense modified than original hydrofoil, delaying onset by tenths number. results tunnel show that modifying existing design parameters played key role reducing inception development, as well size structures. A regression model produced cloud length. length is dependent Reynolds’s number coefficients determination both hydrofoils reasonably high, with R2 values above 0.95. also confirm exhibits improved properties.
